Inspiring people through creativity by TogetherWith activities

WHAT IS TOGETHERWITH?

TogetherWith is a project which hopes to is promote the well-being of young people. We aim to use creativity as a means to connect young people with each other. It is proposed to be assembled by using collective, cooperate and collaborative activities. This helps to forge positive relationships between young people. Research has indicated that creative activities can also be a mechanism by which people can connect.

CREATIVITY CONNECTS

“Creativity is just connecting things” – Steve Jobs

By connecting with other people through creative activities, TogetherWith wants to improve the mental and physical well-being of everyone who takes part. We believe participating in our activities helps people feel much better and also provides a platform in which they can create new positive relationships.

WHAT IS WELL-BEING

Well-being is defined by Dodge et al. (2012) as having “…the psychological, social and physical resources” needed “to meet a particular psychological, social and/or physical challenge”. Well-being emerges from your thoughts, actions, and experiences — most of which we have control over. In breaking it down further, the NEF (2008) describe 5 ways to a greater well-being, this include the following:

MEET THE TOGETHERWITH TEAM

TogetherWith is brainchild of four 4th year students from Dundalk Institute of Technology. The rationale behind the project was to try and help people to forge relationships in a fun and collaborative way considering the isolation that many are feeling during the COVID-19 pandemic. The group members and their roles within the project can be seen below.
